ABOUT THE CREATORS
Director
TIGGERBLUEMOM
In the spring of 2020 the lack of acknowledgement in the US of the people dying from Covid-19 really upset me, and I felt a real need to do something.
I play on a Minecraft server, which during the Pandemic had become, for me, the main way to hang out with others. In June 2020 we held a LGBTQ+ Pride event on the server, which got me thinking about creating a Covid-19 Memorial in Minecraft.
When I started out to make a Covid-19 Memorial in Minecraft I didn't even know how to use the "/fill" command. If I had any idea then how much time and effort would go into this project, I might never have started. I am glad I did not know.
I cannot adequately express how grateful I am to all my friends and family that joined me on this journey. My kids and my Dad all worked on the Memorial in Minecraft and I had the unwavering support of my husband, who believed in my idea even though he has never played Minecraft. My friends from the server gave advice, design expertise, and many, many hours of in game work. This Memorial would not have happened without each and every one of you. Thank you.
Design Team
LIKLIKSNEK
All of the structures, from the central platform to the bridges, were designed and built by Lik. She also helped refine the design of the overall world, including suggesting the rivers and central lake to the map.
AMARIS3004
Often the first person I would go to with an idea or problem, Amaris and helped with technical problems and the overall world design.
Worker Bees
From answering a technical question to spending hours laying out flags to giving encouragement, you all helped make this project possible.
